JEFF RUBY’S LAND ON OPENTABLE’S TOP 100 RESTAURANTS IN AMERICA LIST

Carlo & Johnny by Jeff Ruby and Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, Cincinnati Among Ohio’s Top Six Foodie Destinations

CINCINNATI (December 15, 2023) – OpenTable, the leader in restaurant tech and guest insights has named Carlo & Johnny by Jeff Ruby and Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, Cincinnati on its Top 100 Restaurants in America List. While both are best known for their world-class U.S.D.A. Prime steaks, sushi and raw bar, and a premium wine selection, each restaurant also has its unique personality and charm. Combined with live entertainment and impeccable service, guests are given the royal treatment across all the senses.

Cincinnati dominated the Ohio food scene with all six honorees based in The Queen City. As stated in OpenTable’s announcement, over 12 million diner reviews and dining metrics including diner ratings, percentage of reservations made in advance, and five-star reviews informed the list’s rankings.

President and CEO, Britney Ruby Miller said, “We are humbled and honored to be featured on OpenTable’s Top 100 Restaurants in America list and contribute to Cincinnati’s culinary clout. We measure all our markets’ guest sentiment and Cincinnati is consistently at the top of the dining scene. We are proud to be in good company with four other restaurants on top of their game. All boats rise with the tide. We are blown away by the fact Ohio is one of the top three states in America for most restaurants recognized.”

Local12.com discerned that only California (14) and Florida (7) had more restaurants on the top 100 list than the six from Cincinnati representing all of Ohio. Cincinnati.com and CityBeat.com also shared key highlights about each of the six honorees listed below:

Additionally, the caliber of restaurants and competition evolved from 2022. According to the press release cited above, this year’s list includes 63 cities (vs. last year’s 47) including Brooklyn, New York; Palm Beach, Florida; Anchorage, Alaska and Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Carlo & Johnny is housed in a historic mansion that was once a stagecoach stopover, a speakeasy, an illegal casino, and a gangster hideout. This award-winning Tuscan steakhouse oozes intimacy and character. Commonly referenced as the most romantic of the Jeff Ruby restaurants, Carlo & Johnny will unveil some exciting renovations in early 2024 including a dining room decorated in Gucci wallpaper.

Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse has been a Cincinnati landmark for more than 20 years. In 2022, the restaurant moved from 700 Walnut St. to 505 Vine St. adjacent to Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati. It’s the Ruby family’s largest and most luxurious steakhouse yet. Guests frequently gather around the bar area along the elevated stage where a mother-of-pearl and gold-plated piano serves as a showstopping centerpiece.

The original space on Walnut St. was transformed into a new event venue, The Lempicka by Jeff Ruby. The Lempicka offers a white-glove approach to events with five-star fine dining where guests are treated like royalty. Committed to expertly crafted culinary execution, concierge-level planning & service, guests get to enjoy the Ruby magic that makes every gathering a noteworthy affair.
