Beverage and wine director Brian McClure has left his position at the Greenbrier's Main Dining Room in White Sulfur Springs, W.Va., after nearly five years at the restaurant. He will begin his new job as Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment's corporate beverage director next week.
"I was very impressed by the company culture and I am very excited to work for the Ruby family and the great team they have assembled," McClure told Wine Spectator. "I am also looking forward to [...] helping to create a reputation that is associated with excellence in beverage in much the same way as the reputation the company currently has for the best steaks in the country."

If you watched the Kentucky Derby coverage on TV, one name flashed past over and over: Jeff Ruby.
As in Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse, the sponsor of winning jockey Mike Smith, who was virtually the only jockey whose trousers were still white after this year's exceptionally muddy Run for the Roses.
Jockey Mike Smith celebrated with Justify after their win in the 144th running of the Kentucky Derby.
At least six other jockeys also were wearing the restaurant's logo, though some might not have been seen because of the mud. And in Saturday's Preakness, all but one of the jockeys in the field will be wearing it.
How — and why — did Jeff Ruby come to own horse racing?
"We’ve been doing it for a long time," Ruby said this week. "I’ve been with Mike Smith for quite a few years, and Joe Talamo since he was 19."

HOSPITALITY THAT IS EASILY AMONG THE BEST IN TOWN
By G.A. Benton / For The Columbus Dispatch
Confronting the wallet-wrenching prices in an expensive new Columbus restaurant, I thought: “Wow, Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse better be very good.”
As it turns out, it is.
After a few visits, I can attest that the cost of eating at Jeff Ruby’s entitles diners to hospitality that’s easily among the best in town. Most visible in this team effort are personable servers in crisp white jackets who are well-versed in the nuances of the food and drink menus and seem unusually adept at anticipating a table’s needs. That takes a lot of training.
And it took a lot of money — about $5 million — to transform the former 89 Fish & Grill into one of the most opulent restaurants in Columbus. The head-turning establishment — the Cincinnati-based restaurate...
