Ruby Inks Deal On Waterfront Restaurant 04.09.13
COVINGTON — Jeff Ruby's Waterfront has taken a lot of blows in its 27-year history: the floating restaurant was hit by runaway barges not once, but twice, and Ruby said it partially sank one Labor Day weekend.
And then one Friday night in March 2011, the upscale restaurant partially broke away from its moorings during heavy spring flooding on the Ohio River. The 84 patrons and employees aboard were safely evacuated on live TV before the structure floated about 100 feet downriver.
"I named it for 'On the Waterfront', but I should have named it 'The Poisedon Adventure'," Ruby often jokes. Read more.

Jeff Ruby’s located in the Belterra Casino 7.25.12
Recently, I had the opportunity to do a food review at Jeff Ruby’s located in the Belterra Casino, just outside Vevay Indiana. Having had the opportunity to eat at Jeff Ruby’s in the past, I jumped at the chance when it was offered. Being a chef, I tend to look at food as more of a religion than just a meal. I want to know what makes food work, what’s hidden in all the nooks and crannies of a dish...Read More >>
The Precinct stands test of time 7.06.12
It was 31 years ago that Jeff Ruby opened the Precinct in a former police station at the corner of Columbia Parkway and Delta Avenue. It almost immediately became one of the best, most popular restaurants in the city. Remarkably, it still is.
A steakhouse is the most traditional restaurant, with an expected menu of steaks and potatoes, red wine and raw seafood – the things people with money in their pockets have been eating since money and pockets were invented... Read More >>
In The News 6.05.12
Words cannot express how proud we are to launch the new, "beefed up" JEFFRUBY.COM. It seems too fitting that this coincides with June being National Steakhouse Month. Steakhouses are woven into the fabric of American culture. Eating meat dates back to cavemen. It is an American institution and the reason I originally opened Cincinnati's first Steakhouse, The Precinct; because let's face it…sitting down and cutting into a big, thick, juicy steak gives a person a sense of accomplishment, a feeling that he's done alright for himself. He doesn’'t get that same euphoria sitting down and biting into sweet 'n' sour tilapia.
Our employees and guests have made the Precinct one of America's Ten Best Steakhouses (USA Today) yet we pride ourselves on our culinary depth and now have brought even more talent to take all of our places to another level. With that, we launched the new website to give back to our "foodie community". We are happy to share techniques, recipes, and demos that have put us on the map. I especially look forward to blogging, sharing my own personal beliefs, ideas and philosophies. You've been good to me, Cincinnati. Because of you, we have grown, and taken our brand to many other cities. This is just one way to express my appreciation. Cheers!
